Nico Williams on summer transfer wishlist

Nico Williams on summer transfer wishlist

Chelsea are reportedly keen on signing the Athletic Club Bilbao winger Nico Williams.

According to a report from Team Talk, the winger can be signed for a fee of around £43 million at the end of the season and Chelsea are hoping to secure his services.

The Blues could certainly use more cutting edge in the final third and the 21-year-old winger will add goals and creativity.

Players like Raheem Sterling and Mykhailo Mudryk have not been at their best and Williams could prove to be an upgrade on both players. He is versatile enough to operate on both flanks and he will only improve with coaching and experience.

The 21-year-old winger has 6 goals and 11 assists to his name across all competitions and the opportunity to play in the Premier League could be an exciting one for him.

However, Chelsea are currently in the mid table positions and they are unlikely to qualify for European football. It remains to be seen whether they can attract a quality player like Williams without European football next season.

There is no doubt that Chelsea have the financial muscle to get the deal done and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops.

Nico Williams Transfer: £43m fee could be a bargain

Chelsea are not the only English club keen on Williams and they will face competition from London rivals Tottenham Hotspur as well.

The report claims that Chelsea have scouted Williams several times this season. If they can sign the Spanish winger for £43 million, the transfer could prove to be a reasonable investment in the coming seasons especially when Williams fulfils his potential.
