As they search for a replacement for Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool are set to start talks with Ruben Amorim and Julian Nagelsmann.
Football Insider reports that Liverpool are still looking for a new manager.
In order to make sure they can continue the club’s success in spite of the management change, the Reds are searching for the best option. Although Xabi Alonso is their top choice, the Merseyside club are also interested in Amorim and Nagelsmann.
The two managers are on the shortlist of the Premier League leaders along with Bayer Leverkusen manager Alonso. The former Spanish international would prefer to stay in Germany and take a position at Bayern Munich, which is a setback for the Reds in their desire of getting Alonso back in the fold.
The Reds will speak with Amorim and Nagelsmann shortly in an effort to maintain their options open. At Sporting CP, the 39-year-old has excelled. The Reds are keeping an eye on him because of his outstanding performance at the Portuguese team.
They are currently dominating the battle for the league title because of his transformation of them into a winning team. The Reds believe he could be the best person to lead the team in the future. Amorim is anticipated to have an interview with the Merseyside club soon.
Even Nagelsmann is scheduled to meet with the Reds regarding the position. Although his time at Bayern did not work out, he is a highly regarded manager who has demonstrated his abilities in the past. The 36-year-old German manager overseeing his country’s squad now has a contract that expires following the summer’s European Championships.
Liverpool intend to appoint a new manager well in advance of the commencement of the pre-season in order to facilitate a seamless transition. They have begun to take action, and it will be fascinating to watch how things develop going forward.
