Barcelona hold concrete talks with the agent of ‘top’ managerial candidate

As speculations about Barcelona and their search for a new manager continue to dominate the headlines, there is a new update on the matter coming out from Germany.

The Blaugrana have been looking at multiple German managers as candidates, with Hansi Flick, Thomas Tuchel, and Julian Nagelsmann all under consideration.

Concrete talks held with Flick’s agent

Now, Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany claims that Barcelona have held concrete talks with Pini Zahavi, the newly-appointed agent of Hansi Flick.

Flick has been without a job since September last year when he was relieved of his duties as the manager of the German national team.

The 59-year-old’s name has been in constant discussion as a possible option to succeed Xavi, with the manager even appointing Zahavi as his agent recently to boost his prospects.

It is no secret that Barcelona president Joan Laporta shares an excellent relationship with Zahavi, with the two even meeting in Montjuic last month when the Catalans played Getafe in La Liga.

Now, Plettenberg claims that concrete talks have taken place between Barça and Zahavi regarding Flick over the last few days.

No final decision made yet

The report states that Flick is now seen as one of the ‘top’ candidates to replace Xavi at Barcelona at the end of the season.

The former Bayern Munich manager sees himself capable of taking over the reins at the Catalan outfit as well.

However, the Blaugrana are yet to make a final decision on the matter as they are looking at other options as well. But for now, concrete talks have taken place with the 59-year-old manager’s agent.
