Fulham hosted London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday evening in a game where all eyes were on the visitors because of their chances of climbing to fourth.

With a victory, Spurs, albeit potentially temporary, would have leapfrogged Aston Villa. But the Cottagers were not going to roll over and have their bellies tickled by the visitors.

Marco Silva’s men completely outclassed Tottenham from start to finish and ultimately claimed three points with commanding 3-0 win.

For the trip to Fulham Brennan Johnson started on the left wing, acting as a speed option down the flank. The Welsh international had chances to score but ultimately fluffed them.

One former Aston Villa striker, Gabriel Agbonlahor, has criticised Johnson after the game.

Johnson and Werner shouldn’t start for Tottenham – Agbonlahor claims

In his analysis of the game, former Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has identified two Spurs players whom head coach Ange Postecoglou should avoid starting.

The talkSPORT pundit believes that German international forward Timo Werner, currently on loan from RB Leipzig, and Welsh international forward Brennan Johnson, do not meet the standard required to start for Tottenham.

“Similar to Werner, sometimes Mudryk as well. Sometimes when you get these quick players, they can make the wrong choice at the wrong time.

“Johnson and Werner shouldn’t be starting for a team that want to be fighting for the league title, if Spurs want to do that. They should be players on the bench to come on.”
