Postecoglou hits back at reporter with sarcastic reaction to Tottenham’s loss to Fulham

Tottenham were completely outfought and outplayed at Fulham on Saturday evening, leading to them missing out on move into fourth place.

Ange Postecoglou reacted sharply to a question about Tottenham’s top four aspirations following their resounding 3-0 loss to Fulham on Saturday. Despite putting themselves in a favourable position for Champions League qualification with a convincing victory over Aston Villa last weekend, Spurs relinquished that momentum with one of their poorest performances of the season at Craven Cottage.

Tottenham generated numerous opportunities to maintain their streak of scoring in every Premier League game this season. However, poor finishing, notably a two-yard miss from Timo Werner, epitomised a disappointing evening for the team.

Postecoglou on Tottenham’s top four chances

After the game, Postecoglou stated to Sky Sports: “It’s all over so we’ll just go for sixth. What am I meant to say to that?

“We’re two points behind Villa. It’s 10 games to go, there’s so much football to play. I don’t worry about that stuff. It’s not about just falling into a place in the ladder.”

With the terrible defeat to Fulham, Spurs are still trailing fourth-placed Villa by two points, but they maintain a comfortable six-point lead over Manchester United, who are currently in sixth place.
