Barcelona managerial target ready to sign pre-agreement with any club before Euros

With Barcelona scouring the market for a manager to replace Xavi Hernandez at the end of the season, the name of Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann has been doing the rounds as an option.

The 36-year-old tactician is widely regarded as one of the best young coaches in Europe and has emerged as a target for the Blaugrana, with president Joan Laporta understood to be a fan of the German school of management.

Nagelsmann did a fine job at TSG Hoffenheim and Bayern Munich in the past and is currently hoping to lead Germany to the UEFA Euro 2024 triumph in their own backyard this summer.

Nagelsmann ready to accept offers

It must be noted that Nagelsmann’s contract with Germany runs out soon after the Euros.

And the manager would be willing to listen to proposals and sign an agreement with any club before the tournament starts and take over once his duties with the national team are complete, reports Fabrizio Romano.

This comes as an intriguing development as far as Barcelona are concerned as they would not have to wait until the end of the Euros to approach Nagelsmann.

In fact, if the La Liga champions are serious about the 36-year-old, they can reach a pre-agreement with him before the tournament starts and finalise his arrival once the summer extravaganza is done.

It must, however, be noted that Barcelona are not the only club interested in Nagelsmann, as Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are also courting him.

The manager is still taking his time and will assess what are his options across Europe before making a decision on where he wants to sign.

Apart from Nagelsmann, Barcelona are also looking at his compatriots, Hansi Flick and Thomas Tuchel, as well as Brighton & Hove Albion boss Roberto De Zerbi.

At the same time, the continuity of Xavi himself is not completely ruled out with Laporta still in favour of retaining the legendary midfielder.
