Monaco chief Paul Mitchell is keen to become Newcastle United’s new sporting director, according to reports.
The Telegraph revealed last week that the 42-year-old was open to a move back to the Premier League – where he has worked previously with Spurs and Southampton – and HITC’s Graeme Bailey now reports that Mitchell wants the vacant job at Newcastle after being identified our leading target for the role.
Mitchell is currently at Ligue 1 side Monaco and has previously worked at RB Leipzig, where signed the likes of Christopher Nkunku, Dani Olmo and Patrik Schick.
Bailey also reports that scouts from Real Madrid and PSG were in the stands at Man City on Saturday night to watch two Newcastle United stars.
It’s believed Madrid and PSG chiefs were present to see Bruno Guimaraes, with the French giants also checking out Isak, with current striker Goncalo Ramos linked with a summer exit along with Madrid-bound Kylian Mbappe.
HITC understands Real Madrid watched Bruno in the match against Manchester City, and so did Paris Saint-Germain.
PSG also checked on Alexander Isak.@HITCfootball https://t.co/zGTPB5xpyT
