Newcastle United loanee Yankuba Minteh has won Feyenoord’s goal of the month award for his stunning strike in a recent win over Almere City.
The 19-year-old came off the bench and inspired the Dutch giants to a 2-0 win, scoring two in 29 minutes. The first was a stunning finish from the Gambian, who cut in from the right an curled a left-footed finish into the top corner to open the scoring. Watch the goal below.
This strike was the start of a superb run for the teenager, who has gone on to score or assist in each of his next three league games for Feyenoord.
After his brace at Almere, he started and scored in a 2-2 draw at PSV, found the net again in a 3-0 victory over Heracles Almelo the following week and delivered a lovely assist last weekend in a 3-2 win away to Heerenveen.
That’s now seven goals and three assists in 20 Eredivisie appearances for Minteh, who has found real form in front of goal over the past few weeks. One to watch this summer when he returns to Tyneside for pre-season!
