Graham Potter added to wishlist of European giants

Former Brighton and Chelsea manager Graham Potter has been added to the wishlist of Eredivisie giants Ajax.

The Dutch club are looking for a new manager and they have reportedly identified their targets.

Potter joins former Ajax and current Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag and Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders on Ajax’s list of potential managers.

After being fired from Stamford Bridge over a year ago, Potter’s potential interest in moving to Holland to restart his career surprised Ajax CEO Alex Kroes.

Graham Potter has many admirers

The 48-year-old Potter’s time at the Amex Stadium has won him some admirers at the Amsterdam club.

According to the Mirror, Potter has now joined ten Hag and Lijnders as Ajax plan their next move.

Former manager ten Hag’s job at Old Trafford is not secured and he could be shown the exit door, even if he wins the FA Cup, according to reports in the media.

Graham Potter to Ajax?

The Dutchman has endured a difficult season at Man United and with changes expected at the club from top to bottom under new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, ten Hag’s future remains uncertain.

Graham Potter is also linked with a return to the Premier League

It’s interesting to note that Potter is also being thought about as United’s potential Ten Hag successor.

As for Liverpool’s assistant manager Lijnders, he is set to leave Anfield at the end of the season with Jurgen Klopp and looking forward to embark on a new journey and take up a fresh challenge.

Even though he only started as Ajax’s manager in October, John van ‘t Schip will be departing at the end of the season.

The Eredivisie club has had an inconsistent season that even saw them end up at the bottom of the league at one stage.
