The defending champions’ pre-match preparations were thrown into chaos after both KyleWalker and JohnStones picked up injuries while on international duty with England earlier this week.

Although Walker is a contender to start against Arsenal, Stones is ruled out after Gareth Southgate confirmed he had suffered an abductor issue.

John Stones suffered an injury while in action for England against Belgium earlier this week.

Elsewhere, ManuelAkanji also picked up an injury while with Switzerland, leaving JoskoGvardiol in line to feature alongside RubenDias and NathanAke.

Goalkeeper Ederson is also ruled out following a muscle tear he sustained during the 1-1 draw against Liverpool earlier in the month. Stefan Ortega is expected to start.
