Blackburn face Ipswich on Friday and the result will have likely ramifications for promotion and relegation.
John Eustace took over Blackburn in February, but as of yet hasn’t been able to taste victory in the dugout. He has taken charge of nine matches so far, drawing two and losing seven.
Ipswich are currently in third but are still in the race for automatic promotion to the Premier League, having enjoyed a superb season under Kieran McKenna.
Current Form
Blackburn’s current form
As mentioned above, Blackburn have been poor since the appointment of Eustace and haven’t won since 10 February when they beat Stoke 3-1.
Ipswich’s current form
From the middle of February to the start of March, Ipswich won six games in a row which catapulted them into contention for automatic promotion. They suffered a surprising loss versus Cardiff, but bounced back in their last match with a 6-0 demolition of Sheffield Wednesday.
Omari Hutchinson was the star of the show in that one, with two goals and an assist to his name.
Team News
McKenna will be without Wes Burns after he picked up a hamstring injury that will result in him being out for a few weeks, potentially longer. Kiefer Moore and Cameron Burgess might be available, but their fitness will be assessed on Friday morning after a gruelling international schedule. George Hirst is back in training, but the Blackburn game will come too early for him.
For Blackburn, winger Arnor Sigurdsson will miss the rest of the season after suffering a nasty tackle during the Iceland-Israel game.
John Buckley is a doubt after picking up a knock in training, but Hayden Carter should be in the squad after recovering from a hamstring injury.
Scoreline Prediction
Ipswich are flying high following the 6-0 win against Wednesday, and Blackburn have been hopeless recently, so expect a comfortable away victory.
Blackburn 0-2 Ipswich.
