Arsenal ace attracting interest says Romano

Arsenal striker Mika Biereth is impressing on loan this season and it now looks like there will be a race for his signature in the upcoming summer transfer window.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who insists that there won’t be a decision made on the Gunners youngster now, but that interest is there and could grow even more in the weeks to come.

Speaking exclusively to CaughtOffside for his Daily Briefing column, Romano said that many clubs are showing an interest in Biereth after his impressive loan spells at Motherwell and Sturm Graz, so it will be interesting to see where he ends up this summer, or if Arsenal could even be persuaded to keep the talented 21-year-old.

Biereth transfer: What we can expect this summer

What next for Mika Biereth at Arsenal?

Discussing Biereth and his situation at Arsenal, Romano said: “There will be a race for Mika Biereth this summer for sure, many clubs are interested in the young Arsenal striker.

“But Arsenal have been clear on their position: no decision will be made now, internal talks about him will follow later this year. So on this one, interest is there and will likely grow in the next weeks but it’s not something serious yet.”

One imagines some fans will want Biereth to get a chance in Mikel Arteta’s side, as he looks like a player with a big future who could perhaps be ready to make an impact at the Emirates Stadium, even if only as an upgrade on Eddie Nketiah in a squad player role.

The striker role has been a bit of an issue for AFC in recent times, with Gabriel Jesus proving injury prone and not that prolific when he has been fit, meaning there could surely be room for Biereth to come in and challenge for a place, even if it would be a bit of a gamble.
