Chelsea vs Burnley Predictions: Team to Win, Form

Burnley face a tough task on Saturday when they travel to Stamford Bridge to face an in-form Chelsea side.

The Blues have been disappointing under Mauricio Pochettino this season and are well out of the race for Champions League qualification, though they will still hold hopes of qualifying for the Europa League should they move up a few places between now and the end of the season.

They have an FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City to look forward too, also.

Burnley, meanwhile, have struggled since their return to the Premier League after being so impressive under Vincent Kompany in the Championship. They are currently five points from safety down in 19th and, if they are going to pull off a miracle and escape relegation, they better start the comeback soon, especially after two positive recent results.

Current Form

Chelsea’s current form

Chelsea are in a good moment, with three wins and a draw over their last four games in all competitions, including that FA Cup quarter-final win over Leicester.

They certainly could have been more convincing in that game, though, as the Championship side took them beyond 90 minutes before Carney Chukwuemeka

and Noni Madueke scored.

Burnley’s current form

Despite their lowly status in the league, Burnley are coming off two good league results as they followed a 2-2 draw away at West Ham with a win over Brentford.

If they are to mount that herculean comeback and avoid relegation, these two results could prove a positive starting point.

Team News

Pochettino is dealing with a long list of injury problems, which got even longer over the international break as Robert Sanchez, Carney Chukwuemeka and Trevoh Chalobah all suffered knocks.

That trio join Reece James, Levi Colwill, Christopher Nkunku, Lesley Ugochukwu, Wesley Fofana and Romeo Lavia on the sidelines.

There are doubts over the fitness of Ben Chilwell, too, after he picked up a knock on England duty.
