Newcastle vs West Ham Predictions: Team to Win, Form

Newcastle vs West Ham Predictions: Team to Win, Form

It seems crazy that only a few weeks ago, David Moyes’ future at West Ham was being called into question.

At the moment, the Hammers are seventh in the Premier League, poised to qualify for Europe once again.

They are also in the quarter-final stage of the Europa League, where they will face Leverkusen over two legs.

It has been a disappointing campaign for Newcastle, meanwhile, as after qualifying for the Champions League last season, they have failed to live up to expectations in 2023/24, though they have had to contend with a raft of injuries.

Current Form

Newcastle’s current form

Newcastle’s recent form has been up and down as they followed up a 3-0 defeat of Wolves in the Premier League with losses versus Chelsea in the league and Manchester City in the FA Cup.

Eddie Howe likely be worried at the lack of fight that was present in the City game, as Pep Guardiola’s men ran out routine winners.

West Ham’s current form

The Hammers have suffered defeat just once in their last six matches and that was against Freiburg in the Europa League. They lost 1-0 in the first leg in Germany but overturned it with a 5-0 victory at home.

They have drawn their last two Premier League matches against Burnley and Aston Villa respectively.

Team News

In the match against Man City, Sven Botman suffered a knee injury and it has now been confirmed that he has damaged his ACL, which means his season is over.

As mentioned above, Newcastle’s injury issues this season have been extensive and Howe will be without Botman, Callum Wilson, Joelinton Nick Pope and Lewis Miley for the game at St. James’ Park.

Sandro Tonali remains suspended. Newcastle are hopeful Kieran Trippier, Tino Livramento and Harvey Barnes could be passed fit.

There will be two big misses for West Ham as Edson Alvarez is suspended and Mohammed Kudus is a major doubt due to a knee problem. Maxwel Cornet has suggested he may return from a thigh injury against Newcastle, though.

Scoreline Prediction

This season, there hasn’t been much…
