Liverpool vs Sheffield United Prediction: Team to Win, Form

The draw between Manchester City and Arsenal at the weekend opened the door for Liverpool to solidify their status at the top of the Premier League.

No matter how City and Arsenal fair against Aston Villa and Luton on Wednesday, the Reds will fancy themselves to claim all three points versus Sheffield United at Anfield the night after.

Sheffield Utd are on course to finish one of the worst Premier League seasons of all time, as they have accumulated just 15 points from 29 matches so far.

Current Form

Liverpool’s current form

Liverpool are enjoying title-winning form at the moment as they have won five out of their last six games, with the other game in that run proving to be a respectable 1-1 draw against Man City.

Last time out, they were forced to come back from behind to defeat Brighton 2-1 at Anfield, with Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah scoring the goals.

It was the seventh time that they have come back from behind to win in the league this season.

Sheffield Utd’s current form

Sheffield Utd have tasted victory on just three occasions this season and it is wretched winless runs that see them rock bottom of the table.

They have picked up points in their last two games against Bournemouth and Fulham, but those will no doubt feel as bad as defeats as the victory was snatched away in the final moments of both matches.

Enes Unal equalised for Bournemouth in the 91st minute, while Rodrigo Muniz scored in the 93rd minute for Fulham.

Team News

Liverpool have a long list of injuries including Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Diogo Jota, Joel Matip, Ben Doak, Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic.

However, they will be boosted by the likely returns of Andy Robertson and Curtis Jones, who have recovered from an ankle and shin issue respectively.

Chris Basham, John Egan, Max Lowe, Rhys Norrington-Davies, Rhian Brewster, Tom Davies, Cameron Archer and George Baldock are all missing due to injury for the Blades, while Daniel Jebbison is out due to illness.
