Newcastle United are considering a summer move for Middlesbrough stopper Seny Dieng, according to The Telegraph.
In their latest transfer notebook piece, Mike McGrath and John Percy claim the Senegalese international is attracting interest from a host of Premier League and European clubs after impressing at the Riverside since joining from QPR last year.
The report that we’re in the market for another back-up goalkeeper now Loris Karius is out of contract this summer and searching for a Serie A club to bring him closer to his partner – who works in Italy – and daughter.
Crystal Palace are also credited with an interest in the 29-year-old, as are Ipswich – currently top of the Championship – and La Liga side Sevilla. He cost Boro £2m last summer and is expected to cost around double that.
Dieng is pushing to take Senegal’s number one jersey off former Chelsea stopper Edouard Mendy after saving a penalty for his country in a recent clash with Benin.
