April 4 – Global media and tech business Yahoo has struck a deal between its Yahoo Sports division and streaming platform OneFootball to create a new hub for football content.
Available in the US and Canada on the Yahoo Sports website and app, the co-branded Yahoo Sports-OneFootball hub will provide content from OneFootball’s library of original and licensed content, including news and analysis from multiple leagues worldwide. It will also feature Yahoo Sports reporting, as well as new video content.
“We’re thrilled to team up with OneFootball to build the leading home for global soccer coverage,” said Ryan Spoon, president of Yahoo Sports.
“There is a growing appetite for great and comprehensive soccer content. Together with OneFootball, we’ll cover soccer with unmatched depth across multiple platforms and unlock meaningful sponsorship opportunities for our brand partners.”
The Yahoo Sports-OneFootball soccer hub is expected to debut later this year. The US is hosting Copa América this summer, the Club World Cup in 2025 and an edition of the Gold Cup in 2025, the 2026 World Cup (alongside Canada and Mexico), and the Olympics in 2027.
“Our partnership with Yahoo Sports exemplifies our strong foothold and credibility within the football community, enhancing our strategic expansion into North America ahead of pivotal football events such as Copa América later this year,” said Patrick Fischer, CEO of OneFootball. “It paves a special path forward as we prepare for the exciting FIFA World Cup in 2026.”
