When Ansu Fati accepted to leave FC Barcelona and join Brighton & Hove Albion on loan in the summer, the idea for the young forward was to play regularly, enjoy a strong season and return to Catalonia.
However, things have not gone according to plans for the La Masia graduate in England. After a slow start to life in the Premier League, Fati was dealt with yet another injury setback.
Since returning from injury, Fati has struggled to make his way into Roberto De Zerbi’s plans and was recently left out of the squad for a match, with the Brighton boss citing lack of match fitness and shape as the reason.
No way back to Barcelona
Now, SPORT has come forward with an update regarding Ansu Fati’s future, reporting that there is simply no way back for the youngster at Barcelona.
As per the report, it is practically impossible for the Spaniard to play again for the Blaugrana as they have already decided that they do not count on him for their next sporting project.
As such, Barça and Fati’s agent, Jorge Mendes, are already on the lookout for clubs who would be willing to bet on him, where he can be a regular starter and work his way back to the top.

They are of the understanding that Brighton & Hove Albion will not renew their loan agreement for Ansu and are thus looking for a new home for the attacker.
Three Spanish clubs keen on loan
Ansu’s priority had always been to return and play for Barcelona but he and his entourage now accept that it is unlikely to happen as the club are clear that he will not have a place in the team.
In fact, Barça would be in favour of a definitive permanent sale of the youngster, but are aware that there are unlikely to be any convincing offers for him. As such, another loan deal could be the best outcome.
