Pochettino is a good man-manager but is tactically inadequate – Talk Chelsea

It was unfortunately peak Mauricio Pochettino Chelsea on Sunday night as we once again TWICE threw away a lead to draw with bottom of the table Sheffield United, a team who have been hammered for fun by most other teams this season.

A moment of individual brilliance from Noni Madueke had us all believing that we had somehow skanked another win without fully deserving it like we did against Manchester United earlier this week. But once again Chelsea’s shocking organisation and defensive coaching saw us throw it away and concede late on.

I don’t remember the last game under Pochettino that I truly enjoyed watching us in from start to finish. For me that says a lot. I think he’s a good man-manager, but he is tactically inadequate.

On Sunday, Sheffield United won more duels, had more shots on goal, more big chances created more shots inside the box, as well as a better xG. Chelsea haven’t had an away clean sheet in the Premier League since beating Fulham 2-0 on October 2nd. Since then they have conceded an average of two goals per game (24 in 12 games) on the road.

Imagine anyone even trying to claim that this is not on Pochettino at all, the HEAD COACH of this team!? He’s tactically inept, completely out of his depth in that department. He will never get Chelsea where we need to be, unfortunately.

Individually I think we have some decent players (also some bad ones). But putting them altogether in the right way is the issue. We rely on individual moments of brilliance, like Sunday and against Man Utd, but we don’t play as a team. That’s a mix of coaching, and a young team maturing for me, but mainly coaching.

Bottom of the table Sheffield United had 11 attempts at goal, 6 on target. ‘European challengers’ Chelsea had just 6 attempts, and 3 on target. That’s truly tragic and I’m sorry, is on the manager. He is the one who trains them every single day, he is the one who leads and instructs them, he is the one who is responsible.

Afew things…
