Barcelona expect to earn €120 million per year from the new Spotify Camp Nou

The reconstruction of the Spotify Camp Nou was a major undertaking for FC Barcelona, for it meant that they would be moving away from their hallowed home for a year while the shift to Montjuic would also affect them financially.

But things are going well as far as the renovation of the iconic stadium is going with work proceeding at full speed.

The idea is to return to the renovated Camp Nou by November or December this year, with the stadium likely to be operating at 60% capacity.

The arena will likely be ready to accommodate 100% attendance potentially in 2025.

Barcelona expecting €120 million per year revenue from Camp Nou

Now, SPORT reports that Barcelona are expecting a massive revenue boost once the new Spotify Camp Nou is ready and fully operational.

As per the report, the Catalans believe they can generate a mammoth income of €120 million per year from their stadium once the renovation works are fully done.

As was reported earlier this month, Barcelona are expecting major cash injection from the VIP and the VVIP boxes in place at the new stadium over the next couple of summers itself.

That, coupled with sponsorship deals, ticket sales, hospitality and other sources, would help the club generate around €120 million per year.

What is the situation currently?

“The aim is to play the first match at the end of 2024 and finish the work in the first four months of 2025. The installation of the third tier is already underway, with the first metal pillars, and we have to keep growing,” said Joan Sentelles, one of the directors of the Espai Barça project.

Sentelles also pointed out that when the stadium returns there will be a capacity of approximately 68,000 spectators, although for the first match this figure may be lower and closer to 50,000.

Furthermore, the third tier will not be available to the public until the end of 2025.
