Xavi wants Barcelona to fulfil two conditions to ensure his continuity

Xavi’s decision to stay with Barcelona hinges on the assurance of improvements to the current team for the upcoming season, reports Fernando Polo via Mundo Deportivo. 

The reporter mentions that Xavi has demanded two things from the management. First, there must not be a major exit and second, the new arrivals must be significant.

Since Xavi declared that he would depart from Barcelona at the season’s end, the Catalan team has enjoyed an impressive unbeaten streak of 12 games.

Between late January and until now, speculation has swirled around the upcoming vacancy at the club, yet Barcelona’s financial limitations have consistently hindered progress. 

Presently, the management, headed by President Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco, places increasing reliance on Xavi and it is an open secret that they desire him to continue leading the current project.

At this moment, Xavi’s decision is pivotal, as it not only signifies his personal commitment but also reflects the club’s ability to steer its current challenges and secure a promising future.

As of today, while results matter for his future, Laporta’s persistent urging could convince him, especially if he is assured of the reinforcements he deems necessary without losing key players. 

For that, Xavi still sees gaps in midfield and desires players like Martin Zubimendi, Joshua Kimmich, and Bernardo Silva, but hefty investments must navigate financial regulations.

If Laporta ensures stability and the team avoids any embarrassing mishaps in the upcoming games, then anything becomes possible.
