The second-leg of the Barcelona vs PSG clash is set to kick-off at the Olympic Montjuic Stadium, with the Catalans holding a 2-3 lead from the game at the Parc des Princes.
While Raphinha and Xavi’s game-management stole the show in the first-leg, one of the major talking points from the win was Ousmane Dembele’s goal in the second-half.
The Frenchman launched an absolute thunderbolt into the roof of the net from inside Barcelona’s box, and did not hesitate while celebrating, running off to the corner flag with his teammates.
After six seasons at the club, during which he received a ton of support from his coaches, teammates, and fans, Barcelona supporters have understandably not taken his celebrations well, and have let it known ahead of kick-off.
Whistles on arrival
Firstly, Dembele was greeted with whistles and insults after PSG landed in Barcelona yesterday.
But the rage has amped up now. Barcelona fans were seen burning Dembele’s shirts before kick-off.
This is often a common practice in Europe, and fans of clubs have been seen burning and stamping on former players’ shirts often.
And if that was not enough, the Olympic Montjuic welcomed Dembele to heavy whistles and boos as the player came out to warm-up ahead of kick-off.
The Frenchman is in the starting lineup for the game, taking his place on the right-wing. He will face Joao Cancelo and Raphinha on that flank, while Bradley Barcola and Kylian Mbappe complete the trident as the left-winger and centre-forward, respectively.
