After a poor showing at Wembley at the weekend, it appears that Man United manager, Erik ten Hag could again be on borrowed time at the club, with former Man City legend, Vincent Kompany, part of the puzzle to potentially replace the Dutchman.
Time and again during the 2023/24 season the Red Devils have looked brittle defensively, but the collapse against Coventry took things to an entirely different level.
But for the tightest of VAR decisions, which was debatable at best given that the officials are meant to give the benefit of the doubt to the attacking team in such situations, United would’ve been dumped out of the FA Cup after leading 3-0 in a semi-final against a struggling Championship team with just 20 minutes to go of normal time.
Vincent Kompany could help see Erik ten Hag ousted at Man United
TV pictures would show a haunted looking ten Hag on the sidelines with the ‘wally with the brolly’ Steve McClaren looking equally as clueless.
It’s difficult to imagine that the former Ajax man will still be in place after the conclusion of the current campaign, and TeamTalk note that Brighton and Hove Albion manager, Roberto De Zerbi, is greatly admired by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his recruitment team.
