Barcelona will have to do their level best this summer to offload players and earn some money through sales that might help them get back to the 1:1 rule in La Liga.
However, the task sounds much easier than it actually is.
As of now, only players out on loan, including Clement Lenglet, Ansu Fati, Sergino Dest, and Eric Garcia are heading towards the exit door, and none of them are expected to bring in a lot of revenue.
And among the players with a high transfer value, Barcelona are not ready to compromise on their squad by selling important assets such as Pedri, Gavi, Ronald Araujo, Lamine Yamal, among others.
This does leave some others, who might not be too keen on leaving the club this summer.
High salary problems
According to a report published by SPORT, Barcelona will have problems while trying to offload Frenkie de Jong and Jules Kounde, even if they get suitable offers for each of them.
Both players are on a very high contract in terms of their wages, and do not want to leave Barça because they might not get this salary from other clubs.
De Jong, especially, is one of the highest-earners in Europe, with his salary reportedly touching €40 million gross. He is also on an ascending contract, which means his wages next season will be even higher.

Reports have suggested that Barcelona are ready to listen to offers worth €70 million or more for the Dutchman in the summer, especially if he chooses not to renegotiate his contract.
Xavi does want de Jong to be a part of his squad should he choose to continue as the manager of the club beyond the summer.
Premier League teams are interested in his contract, while Bayern Munich have not lost sight of him either. The main problem between any deal, though, is his extremely high salary.
