After 10-day break following our 4-0 win over Spurs, Newcastle United are back in Premier League action tonight with a trip to Crystal Palace. Here’s the side we think Eddie Howe will go with at Selhurst Park:
Predicted XI: Dubravka – Krafth, Schar, Burn, Livramento – Longstaff, Bruno, Anderson – Gordon, Isak, Barnes.
The key to containing Palace will be stopping Eze and Olise, so I can see Livramento starting at left-back to help us stop the latter, allowing Burn to come back into a central role alongside Schar.
Hall is still working on the defensive side of his game, making a match up with Olise a tough ask. I think we’ll see Krafth at right-back after his solid display against Spurs, meaning Murphy drops out.
The midfield three picks itself now Willock, Joelinton and Miley are all out. Bruno is no longer walking that yellow card tightrope and Anderson deserves a run in the side after his outstanding display against Spurs.
In attack, it feels like Gordon, Isak and Barnes is our best front three and will surely be given another chance to cause havoc after tearing apart Tottenham. It will be important that Barnes doesn’t shirk his defensive duties, however, with Munoz an attacking right wing-back who will look to support Olise.
