The coming weeks could prove to be crucial in the context of Xavi Hernandez’s future at Barcelona.
Both parties are currently involved in a discussion over the Spaniard’s continuity at the club. Earlier in the year, Xavi had announced his desire to leave the club at the end of the season.
But Barcelona have performed significantly better this year, despite the elimination from the UEFA Champions League and the recent loss to Real Madrid. This has led many to believe that Xavi may reverse his decision and stay at Camp Nou.
Xavi is exhausted
A recent report from Matteo Moretto has offered a fresh update on the future of Xavi Hernandez.
Moretto claims that Xavi is currently exhausted at Barcelona. The Spaniard is not entirely sure whether or not he would want to continue at Camp Nou.
This comes on the back of reports that claim Barcelona have their own set of demands for Xavi if he does want to stay at the club.

One of the demands could be qualification for next season’s Spanish Super Cup. Xavi must also be content with a lack of financial support, even though the club are increasingly confident about returning to the 1:1 rule.
Pessimism in the Barça camp
Moretto adds that people close to Xavi remain pessimistic about the coach’s continuity at Camp Nou.
That pessimism appears to have crept into the Barcelona camp as well. It seems the internal members at Barça are not entirely sure Xavi would continue at the club.
This could be an alarming sign for Barcelona, who haven’t made much effort when it comes to finding a replacement for Xavi.
Rafa Marquez is available as an in-house replacement, but the Mexican may divide the Barcelona board due to his lack of coaching experience.
Therefore, Xavi appears to be Barcelona’s best option right now. And it will be interesting to see how things transpire as the club look to convince the Spaniard to prolong his spell at Camp Nou.
