Finding the back of the net has become a real problem recently as they’ve scored just five goals in five games.
Liverpool’s current form
It isn’t outrageous to say that Liverpool were bullied and battered in the Merseyside Derby on Wednesday and the Reds have now lost three out of their last five in all competitions, including that surprise defeat against Atalanta in the Europa League.
Confidence isn’t at a high point for Klopp’s men, but surely the players will be eager to give their manager a good send-off before he departs at the end of the season…?
Jarrod Bowen has been struggling with a back injury that has had him in and out of the team recently. He had to have an injection to play against Leverkusen but then missed the loss against Palace. With a week free without a game, he should be okay to play.
The fitness of Konstantinos Mavropanos and Nayef Aguerd will be assessed before kick-off after they picked up slight issues recently.
As for Liverpool, it is likely Jurgen Klopp will make changes to his side after the defeat against Everton.
Thiago Alcantara, Joel Matip and Ben Doak are all long-term absentees, but Diogo Jota will probably be available again after missing the Everton loss.
