The fitness of Pedri has once again become a talking point at Barcelona. After making an effort to feature against PSG earlier this month, the midfielder is now facing the repercussions.
Pedri did not train on Sunday, which made headlines in Barcelona. Despite recovering from his knock, the youngster seems far from fit and is unlikely to start tonight against Valencia.
Barcelona desperately banking on Pedri
According to Diario AS, Barcelona are quite tense about Pedri’s precarious situation at the club. The midfielder has struggled with multiple injuries since 2021.
This season, for example, Pedri has suffered three relapses in the rectal femoris of his right thigh. These injuries have affected Pedri both physically and mentally.
Pedri’s lack of physical and mental wellbeing has been reflected in his performances as well, with the Spaniard failing to make much of an impact since returning from his latest injury blow.

As per the report, Barcelona are expecting Pedri to have a clean slate next season when it comes to injuries.
Barça are hoping Pedri will avoid any injuries and will be available throughout the course of next season. His presence, after all, could become even more important if Frenkie de Jong ends up leaving Camp Nou this summer.
Future at stake?
The report adds that Pedri’s future at Barcelona could be at risk if the Spaniard fails to leave his injuries woes behind next season.
If he continues to struggle with fitness and form next season, Barcelona might consider a sale of the Spanish international, who is likely to fetch a fortune in the market.
This is not the first time a Barcelona youngster has seen his growth impacted by injuries. Even Ansu Fati saw his progress halted by an injury a few years ago and Barcelona are desperately hoping that Pedri does not follow the same path.
