Barcelona striker signing could leave on loan amidst registration struggles – report

The coming summer transfer window will be pivotal for Xavi’s project at Barcelona.

Having recently guaranteed his continuity as the manager, the Spanish tactician will be determined to turn around the team’s fortunes and performances with high-quality incorporations come June.

The biggest hurdle on that front, however, is the precarious financial situation the board stare at and the registration issues that the salary limit brings. Needless to say, the Catalans will be forced to make some big decisions come June.

Out in six months?

Vitor Roque arrived in Catalonia in the winter transfer market, hoping to gradually phase into the team and acclimatise with the new dynamics.

The Brazilian phenom, however, has not enjoyed the minutes he would have liked to since his arrival. He has only started two games for Barcelona in La Liga and averages just 25 minutes per game in 11 outings.

Now, according to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Roque could leave Barcelona on loan in June. His departure would not only be linked with his reduced prominence but also Barcelona’s struggles to register players for the new season.

Should the youngster’s salary not be reduced sufficiently to fit into Barcelona’s financial fair play limit, Roque could well be on his way out of the club just six months into his spell in Spain.

An uncertain future

Heading into the summer transfer window, Roque is not the only Barcelona striker facing an uncertain future.

Reports yesterday revealed that star striker Robert Lewandowski was no longer considered untransferable by the club, sparking rumours of a departure in June.

After all, his sale to Saudi Arabia or the MLS could generate reasonable revenue for a club in dire need of finances.

If Lewandowski is indeed on his way out, Roque’s future would remain close to the Catalan capital. Multiple factors are involved, needless to say.
