According to a new report, Newcastle United are one of several Premier League clubs keeping a close eye on Nottingham Forest midfielder Danilo.
In his latest ‘exclusive’ for HITC, Graeme Bailey reports that the Brazilian has long-term interest from Arsenal – who watched him closely during his time at Palmeiras – but adds that Newcastle, Man Utd and Spurs are also admirers of the 22-year-old.
After taking some time to settle following an £18m move last January, the South American has impressed at the City Ground and is one of several Forest stars who could be sold this summer; whether they beat the drop or not.
The Reds are currently one point clear of third bottom Luton Town and may be forced to sell in order to comply with PSR. They have already been hit with a four-point deduction this season for breaking FFP rules.
Danilo ticks some of our boxes as an all-action midfielder with plenty of potential to improve, but he isn’t the out and out No 6 many have been calling for us to sign this summer.
He’s also not the first Forest star to be linked. Morgan Gibbs-White is believed to be a key target, while Murillo has also been mentioned as a possible option in our search for centre-backs.
