Manchester United are reportedly leading the race to sign Crystal Palace star Michael Olise, according to ESPN.
The 22-year-old has caught the attention of some of the biggest clubs in England after his impressive performance for the Eagles.
The Crystal Palace player is believed to have a release clause in his contract that becomes active at the end of the season.
Olise has been identified by Sir Jim Ratcliffe as the most important target of their summer rebuilding, and Man United are seen as a front running candidate for his signature.
In 16 games, the Frenchman has seven goals and four assists, and because of his performance, Man United are becoming more interested in him ahead of a potential transfer this summer.
Given the financial fair play (FFP) restrictions, Man United might be open to offering Aaron Wan-Bissaka as part of any deal to help increase their transfer budget.
Last year, Mauricio Pochettino’s team witnessed a dramatic collapse of their transfer when they believed they had activated Olise’s release clause. However, the 22-year-old went on to sign a new deal with Palace.
The Red Devils may encounter competition from other Premier League teams, and negotiations between Man United and Palace are not at an advanced stage.
