Newcastle United have been scouring the globe for exciting young talent able to improve our academy or go out on loan in hope of earning a future first-team slot.
That’s been clear since new owners arrived, with Garang Kuol arriving from Australia, Yankuba Minteh from the Danish League and Cathal Heffernan from Italy. As we exclusively revealed in January last year, Jamaican sensation Dujuan Richards was also on Tyneside for a trial before Chelsea beat us to a deal.
Another name has now emerged in our pursuit of future stars, with Ghana Soccernet revealing that we are looking to sign 18-year-old attacking midfielder Abdul Aziz Issah.
Issah currently plays in the Ghanaian Premier League for Dreams FC’s, where he’s bagged 10 goals and three assists in 28 appearances so far this season.
Reports in Africa claim Newcastle have ‘expressed their desire’ to sign the teenager, although it’s believed we face competition from Nottingham Forest and Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon; who have raided the Ghanaian market previously by signing Leicester City loan star Abdul Fatawu Issahaku.
