Barcelona are expected to make major changes during the summer transfer window, which will represent the club’s aim to reshape its team and remain competitive at both the domestic and European levels.
But to fund a successful squad revamp and bring in new talent, the Catalan giants will be compelled to first sell players.
And among those deemed transferable is Raphinha, who could generate some much-needed cash for Barcelona.
Barcelona have named their price
Now, according to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are seeking at least €55 million for Raphinha, the same amount they paid to acquire him from Leeds back in 2022.
However, the report adds that the Brazilian winger is reluctant to leave. Despite Barcelona’s intention to recoup their investment, Raphinha’s unwillingness to depart complicates any potential transfer negotiations.
Raphinha’s current contract expires in 2027, and thus he holds a strong position with no immediate pressure to move.
Given that the 27-year-old has also hit a rich vein of form since the turn of the year, he will also be looking to capitalize on his improved performances to solidify his place in the squad and play a more prominent role.
In Barcelona’s last six games in all competitions, Raphinha has impressively scored four goals and contributed three assists, including an incredible brace against PSG.
Who else could Barcelona cash out on?
Despite Raphinha’s intention to stay put, Barcelona will be sure to pay attention to any lucrative offers.
Besides the Brazilian forward, Frenkie de Jong faces a high chance of hitting the exit door after reportedly being placed on the transfer market.
The Blaugranes will listen to offers for Robert Lewandowski too, as his salary is slated to skyrocket next season.
Time will tell who Barcelona end up extracting funds from, but in light of their economic state, only a few players can expect to be safe in the upcoming transfer window.
