Christian Pulisic scores brace in AC Milan romp

Christian Pulisic is ending his Serie A campaign on a very strong note.

Pulisic scored twice on Saturday as AC Milan rolled past Cagliari 5-1 at the San Siro. The U.S. men’s national team attacker logged 90 minutes as the Rossoneri padded their lead for a second-place finish this season.

After AC Milan broke the deadlock in the first half, Pulisic extended the Rossoneri’s lead in the 59th minute. Rafael Leao’s through-ball pass allowed Pulisic to race in towards goal before the 25-year-old rifled home for his first goal of the match.

Nahitan Nandez cut Cagliari’s deficit in half in the 63rd minute but AC Milan would pull away with three additional goals in the match.

Tijjani Reijnders and Leao extended Milan’s lead to 4-1 before Pulisic capped off the match with his second goal. Pulisic’s powerful right-footed effort looked to have been cleared off the line, but the goal stood as Milan capped off the final score at 5-1.

It marked Pulisic’s 15th goal of the season across all competitions. Pulisic finished the match with three duels won, two offensive chances created, and one foul drawn as AC Milan earned its 22nd league win of the campaign.
