Newcastle on the brink of agreeing first summer signing – Big claims on Sunday night

It looks like Newcastle are on the brink of signing Fulham centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo to kick off our summer transfer business.

A Sunday night update from The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards revealed that we are now ‘close to sealing a deal’ for the 26-year-old, who would arrive on a free transfer after rejecting a new contract at Craven Cottage.

The Mail’s Craig Hope has also shared good news on our pursuit of the 6ft 5′ defender, reporting that we’re now the ‘clear favourites’ for his signature and his preferred destination.

Hope states that Adarabioyo is excited by the club’s ambition, impressed by the project presented to him during talks and eager to play under Eddie Howe; a manager who has a track record of improving players on Tyneside.

Fabrizio Romano has also added his two cents, insisting are plans to sign Tosin and Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly are ‘plan progressing very well’ and ‘fast’, suggesting we are making real progress in our pursuit of both soon-to-be free agents.

As reported last month Newcastle are now close to sealing deal for Tosin. Talks with Kelly remain active #NUFC https://t.co/HlGXFB8Rtv
