Exclusive: Arsenal expert makes big claim about crucial Tottenham vs Manchester City clash

Arsenal FC expert Charles Watts is not exactly feeling optimistic about tonight’s big game between Tottenham and Manchester City as the Gunners desperately hope for a slip up from their title rivals against their north London neighbours who will NOT want to see them lifting the trophy this Sunday.

Speaking exclusively to CaughtOffside for his latest Daily Briefing column, Watts explained that he thinks the atmosphere at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium tonight will surely be very flat, making it a likely stroll for Man City as they close in on another title victory.

There will perhaps be some more optimistic Arsenal fans out there, but it seems Watts is resigned to Mikel Arteta’s team finishing runners up again as they did last year, though the manner in which they’ve done it is really quite different.

While Arsenal fell away towards the end of last season, they have done almost everything they can to win the title this term, with only an unstoppable City side preventing them from finishing as champions, according to Watts.

“After the win at Manchester United on Sunday, all eyes turn to whether Tottenham can do them a favour against Manchester City. Do I expect them to do that? Absolutely not. And it’s not just because of the Arsenal factor for Tottenham, it’s more to do with the fact Spurs simply aren’t good enough to cause this City team any problems,” Watts said.

“It will be a stroll in the park for City, in a stadium which will have absolutely no atmosphere. Any noise the Spurs fans inside the ground will make, will be when they are cheering on City themselves. And to be honest, I get it. Arsenal fans would be feeling exactly the same if the roles were reversed. They wouldn’t want to win a game if it handed Spurs the title, even if Champions League qualification was at stake.
