Barcelona find themselves at a juncture where collective triumphs seem distant, yet their seasoned striker, Robert Lewandowski, embarks on a personal quest for glory. 

Having netted 17 times in 32 La Liga encounters, the former Bayern Munich talisman currently occupies the fourth slot in the league’s goal-scoring hierarchy.

With three fixtures remaining on the calendar, the Polish virtuoso faces a considerable distance to climb up the ladder. 

Nonetheless, clinching the coveted Pichichi Trophy remains a real aspiration. Despite securing the accolade last term with 23 strikes, the 35-year-old lags behind Artem Dovbyk of Girona (20 goals), Alexander Sorloth of Villarreal (19 goals), and Jude Bellingham of Real Madrid (18 goals).

To safeguard his title, the Barcelona stalwart—whose most recent league goal materialized against Girona in a 4-2 loss—must ensure a consistent presence on the scorecard. 

Given Dovbyk’s scintillating form coupled with Bellingham’s consistency, any lapse in Lewandowski’s scoring output could prove detrimental to his pursuit.

Lewandowski’s absence from the scoresheet against Real Sociedad compounded his plight. Adding insult to injury, manager Xavi opted to substitute him in the 76th minute, making way for Ferran Torres. 

Had he remained on the pitch, the likelihood of him converting the penalty, subsequently taken by Raphinha in his stead, loomed large. Evidently, the forward was not happy with the change.

Explaining his decision after the game, Xavi said, “Lewandowski’s change was for a tactical issue, to be able to press high again, and because this week there are three games. 

“We needed a little more strength. We needed a little more legs. We have made a great effort and Robert has done a very good job.
