Worrying update from Eddie Howe – Two key players facing late tests for Man Utd clash

Eddie Howe has revealed that Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson are yet to train this week and facing late assessments ahead of our trip to Old Trafford.

Isak has been ill – which explained his flat display and early withdrawal on Saturday – and Wilson has also been under the weather and unable to train so far this week after missing the 1-1 draw with Brighton.

Howe has his “fingers crossed” that Swede will be able to train today and come through it OK ahead of tomorrow’s game, but it’s currently uncertain if the pair will be in a position to start.

“Alex didn’t train yesterday”, Howe said. “We will see if he trains today. He wasn’t feeling 100% I think you could see that. We knew on Friday that he was slightly under the weather. I don’t think it’s a serious illness.

“We haven’t seen Callum yet. We’ll see if he’s available to train today, if not, I’m sure he’ll be fit for Brentford.”

Let’s hope both are back on the grass today and are back feeling 100%, as it would be a huge blow to be without our only two strikers for our biggest game of the season to date.
