Thomas Tuchel could end up staying at Bayern Munich after all as he’s set for further talks with the club’s board over his future.
The German tactician has had a difficult season at the Allianz Arena, surprisingly missing out on the Bundesliga title to Bayer Leverkusen, while they were knocked out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage with a defeat to Real Madrid.
Still, Tuchel has a very good CV and has been a target for Manchester United in recent times as they consider the future of Erik ten Hag, though it now seems less clear that he’ll definitely be leaving the Allianz Arena.
Speaking exclusively to CaughtOffside for his latest Daily Briefing column, Fabrizio Romano provided an update on Tuchel’s future, stating that the former Chelsea boss could now be open to remaining in his current job in a surprise U-turn, though it will still depend on a few conditions.

Thomas Tuchel to stay at Bayern Munich?
“It’s now a possibility for Tuchel to stay but there are several points being discussed. It’s about the future squad, the transfer market, the support from the board,” Romano said.
“Tuchel will only stay if Bayern are really 100% convinced, all the people into the club and not just some of them. Conversations are currently ongoing, with Tuchel spotted meeting the Bayern board yesterday.”
This could be disappointing news for United fans, as Tuchel would arguably have been the most exciting candidate out there this summer in case the Red Devils part ways with Ten Hag.
