Ten Hag Blames Injuries for Manchester United’s Slump

Following the 1-0 loss against Arsenal, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag claims that persistent injuries are the primary cause of the club’s shaky and disappointing season. The Arsenal game marks the Red Devils’ ninth loss at Old Trafford this season, and they have now conceded 82 goals across all competitions.

When asked about the match, Arsenal great Paul Merson said, “Arsenal will never have an easier game than that, to be honest.”

In an interview with Sky Sports, Ten Hag said, “The injuries. Also some issues, but mainly the injuries hold us back in the process. In January, we have a lot of players returning, so then our levels can be higher”. The Manchester United manager then went on to say, “I have been here two years and only one time had a full group of players” to further explain the results of this game and the season.

Many Man United fans agree with this statement, citing Casemiro’s performance as centre-back against Crystal Palace and Arsenal in the last two games, which he had to play due to injuries to 5/9 available defenders.
