Eddie Howe has been speaking to the media for his final pre-match press conference of the season, sharing an injury update ahead of Sunday’s crucial trip to Brentford.
The good news is that Callum Wilson should return after missing our last two games, with Howe saying, “we anticipate he will be back” when asked about our No 9.
There’s some doubt over Anthony Gordon’s availability after he played through the pain barrier with an ankle problem at Old Trafford. Howe is “not 100% sure” if he’ll be fit and will “see how he is today” ahead of training.
Tino Livramento has been ruled out after suffering a slight reoccurrence of the ankle issue suffered in that 4-3 win over West Ham, joining the likes of Jamaal Lascelles, Sven Botman, Matt Targett, Lewis Miley and Joe Willock on the sidelines.
Fabian Schar is fit again and should return to the starting XI, but it remains to be seen if Joelinton, Nick Pope and Miguel Almiron will also come back into the side.
Howe then discussed a pivotal final day for the club, knowing a win is essential to secure 7th and have any hope of catching Chelsea in 6th.
“It’s a big last day for us, there’s no denying that. We go to Brentford knowing we have to do our part, which is win the game. Then we’re in the hands of other clubs. The players are determined to finish on an high. The last few games have been difficult because we could have got more points but haven’t.”
