Newcastle have been handed a big boost in their pursuit of Leeds star Crysencio Summerville after sending scouts to watch the attacker in the last few months.
According to the Craig Hope at The Mail, the Yorkshire-based club will have to raise £100m in player sales should they fail to win promotion to the Premier League, and Summerville would be priced at around £30m.
The same report also suggests that teenage sensation Archie Gray and Illan Meslier could also be on Newcastle’s watchlist, with sales on the cards if they fail to win the play-off final next weekend against Southampton or West Brom.
Summerville has enjoyed a brilliant year in the Championship where he won player of the season after netting 19 goals, nine assists and scoring in last night’s 4-0 win over Norwich in the semi-final second leg.
Newcastle are not alone in their interest in the 22-year-old, however, with Chelsea, Aston Villa and Liverpool all keeping tabs on him this summer should he become available.
