Ex-Premier League and England star, 32, looking for new club on LinkedIn after leaving player-manager role at Spanish fifth-tier side

A former Premier League player has turned to LinkedIn in a bid to get himself a new club for next season.

The centre-back has previously represented England at international level and made appearances representing several Premier League clubs including Tottenham, Liverpool and QPR.

Now, aged 32, Steven Caulker has turned to an unlikely route to seek help finding a new club to join next season.

Steven Caulker – Where has he been?

Caulker played football in Turkey for three years after joining the Turkish Super Lig side Alanyaspor.

He went on to play for three more sides in the country, including Fenerbahce.

Then, after a short spell at Wigan in 2023, he joined up with Malaga City in Spain’s fifth tier.

The defender spent a short spell as player-coach with the club, but after leaving the side he is now back on the hunt for a new opportunity.

Turning to the job-hunting platform, Caulker shared from his profile:

“LinkedIn family, please work your magic

I am looking for a new team ahead of the 2024/2025 season. Preferably as a coach, but I am still open to playing.”

Caulker has also stated that while he looks for a suitable opportunity, the defender will keeping himself busy with 1-2-1 coaching, mentoring and public speaking.

The 32-year-old made one appearance for England which was against Sweden in 2012 and represented Great Britain in the Olympics that year.

He later changed his international allegiance to Sierra Leone in 2022.
