The German forward was reduced to tears after his side narrowly missed out on the Premier League title on Sunday evening.
After one of their greatest-ever Premier League seasons which saw them finish on the same amounts of points as the Invincibles, the Gunners once again came heartbreakingly close to domestic glory.
Going into Sunday’s clash against Everton at the Emirates, many fans knew it would take a miracle for West Ham to get a result against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
Despite this the Gunners battled it out against Sean Dyche’s side, winning 2-1 thanks to a dramatic 89th-minute Kai Havertz winner.
The German international who has turned himself into a hero in red and white, was clearly visibly emotional at missing out on the Premier League title after the full-time whistle.
