Chris Sutton has been sharing his final day predictions ahead of today’s 10 Premier League games to end the 2023/24 season.
The BBC pundit believes Newcastle will come away from Brentford with a 2-2 draw, meaning our ability to finish 7th would be out of our hands. However, Sutton thinks Robert De Zerbi will do us a big favour and beat Man Utd 2-1 in his final game at Brighton boss.
This would see us finish above the Red Devils for the first time in Premier League history, but he thinks we’ll miss out on 6th as he’s backing Chelsea to make it five wins on the spin with a 3-1 victory over Bournemouth Here’s what he’s had to say:
“Brentford’s form has picked up recently and they will want to end the season on a high note, at home on the final day. Their manager Thomas Frank has been linked with the Manchester United job, and I understand that in a way, because he’s done an excellent job with the Bees.
“Newcastle United need to at least match Manchester United’s result against Brighton to make sure of finishing seventh. I’m expecting Eddie Howe’s side to do that, but it won’t be easy.
“Sutton’s prediction: Brentford 2-2 Newcastle”
Sutton thinks Man City will secure the title with a 5-0 win over West Ham, thinks Luton’s relegation will be confirmed after a 2-1 defeat to Fulham, with Spurs also holding on to fourth thanks to a victory at Sheffield United and Jurgen Klopp winning his final game as Liverpool boss 4-0 against Wolves.
