Chelsea are on the hunt for a new head coach after parting ways with Mauricio Pochettino on Tuesday.

The former Tottenham boss left by mutual consent after just one full season in charge at Stamford Bridge.

He guided the Blues back into Europe after they finished 12th in the Premier League last season.

Only Manchester City and Arsenal have gained more points than Chelsea in 2024.

Despite the progress, the West London club must now start again and there are some early favourites for who might take over in the capital.

We take a look at some of the names in the frame to become Todd Boehly’s next appointment.

Kiernan McKenna

Ipswich Town will be back in the Premier League for the first time in 22 years next season and it is largely thanks to head coach Kieran McKenna.

The 38-year-old has impressed on a tight budget with the Tractor Boys and deploys attacking football at Portman Road.

Chelsea are reportedly looking for a young and exciting manager and McKenna certainly fits that criteria.

Thomas Tuchel

Going in the other direction, the Blues may look to someone with a bit more experience.

Thomas Tuchel was loved by Chelsea fans and he famously won the Champions League with them in 2021.

With the German leaving Bayern Munich this summer, it may be tempting to lure him back to the Bridge where he can continue his work.
