Barcelona reach verbal agreement with Hansi Flick to replace Xavi – report

In a huge development, journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that Barcelona and Hansi Flick have reached a verbal agreement for him to replace Xavi if the latter leaves.

With Joan Laporta looking to move on from Xavi only weeks after both confirmed their desire to continue in a joint press conference, Flick has emerged as the leading candidate.

Despite reports suggesting otherwise, a meeting is believed to have taken place between Flick, his agent Pini Zahavi, and Barcelona officials Deco and Bojan Krkic.

Now, it is being claimed that if Xavi is sacked, which seems a certainty at this point, Flick will be succeeding him as the next Barça manager.

A verbal agreement is understood to be in place after Flick presented his plan for the Blaugrana.

It is also suggested Barcelona president Laporta is 100% convinced about the German tactician.

Flick has been without a job since last year when he was relieved of his duties as the manager of Germany. Prior to that, the 59-year-old had enjoyed great success at Bayern Munich, where he won the sextuple within a year.

Even though he does lack experience outside of Germany, it appears that Flick has done enough to convince Barcelona with his plan for the team and his appointment appears to getting closer and closer.
