Barcelona €70 million-rated midfield heavyweight remains on Bayern Munich’s radar

Barcelona could be staring at the prospect of losing more than one key player in the summer amidst their financial troubles.

There is pessimism surrounding the continuity of Ronald Araujo while Frenkie de Jong is another heavyweight who could be offloaded.

The Dutchman has yet to respond to the club’s contract offer that was sent last year itself and as such, if there is no agreement, the Blaugrana will likely listen to offers for him too.

Bayern Munich remain interested

Bayern Munich, who have shown a serious interest in Araujo, are also keen on Frenkie de Jong and are keeping tabs on him, reports Florian Plettenberg.

The Bavarian giants are looking at a major revamp after going trophyless this season, with a new manager set to be at the helm while several new signings appear likely.

One of the players on their radars is De Jong and the Dutchman continues to be tracked by the Bavarian giants, who are keeping a close eye on the situation at Barcelona.

However, the Bundesliga giants are not pushing for his signing at the moment.

De Jong may have played his last game

As mentioned earlier, Barcelona need to make at least a couple of important sales in order to address their financial situation.

De Jong is seen as an important player, but at the same time, his market value and the interest he is garnering, make him an appealing candidate to be sold.

Manchester United continue to retain an interest in the Netherlands international while Bayern Munich also seem keen.

De Jong has been out injured since weeks and if rumours about his future are true, the Dutchman may already have played his last game for Barcelona.
