Manchester City have reached out to Bruno Guimaraes’ representatives to discuss a summer move for the Newcastle United midfielder, according to reports last night.
The 26-year-old is currently in Brazil for Joelinton’s wedding, but journalist Ben Jacobs reveals that the Premier League champions have ‘made contact’ with the player’s agent this week.
That’s the ‘bad news’, but Jacobs has better news on Arsenal and PSG. He reports that the Gunners have ‘no plans’ to trigger his £100m release clause – which expires on June 24th – and will only pursue the Brazilian if his price drops, which isn’t going to happen this summer.
As for PSG, they are ‘out the race’ for Bruno and expected to target other options instead, meaning Man City could be the one and only threat this summer.
City’s interest is a worry – they’d offer titles, Champions League football and the chance to work under Pep Guardiola – but I do wonder how the looming charges from 115 breaches may impact those offered a move to the Etihad?
Manchester City are still exploring a move for Bruno Guimarães having made contact with the player’s camp.
Guimarães has a £100m release clause valid only until the final week in June, as @FabrizioRomano called.
