The final match of the Primera Division season between Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid should be an entertaining affair even though both sides know exactly where they will finish in the table.
Sociedad have secured sixth place and a spot in the Europa League, while Atletico Madrid have qualified for the Champions League again and can’t budge from fourth.
Real Sociedad current form
Real Sociedad’s recent form has been up and down which hammered any hopes of a late push for Champions League qualification.
In their last seven games, they have emerged victorious on just three occasions versus Las Palmas, Valencia and Real Betis. The two losses in that run came against Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Atletico Madrid current form
Atletico have lost their status as the third-best team in La Liga this season after another slightly inconsistent campaign.
Los Colchoneros lost their last game 4-1 at home against Osasuna, but prior to that, they won four in a row against Athletic Bilbao, Mallorca, Celta and Getafe.
Aihen Munoz, Martin Merquelanz, Martin Zubimendi, Igor Zubeldia and Carlos Fernandez are all either definitely out of major doubts for Real Sociedad. Javi Galan recently returned after a period on the sidelines.
As for Atletico, Nahuel Molina, Thomas Lemar and Marcos Paulo are out.
Memphis Depay has likely played his last game for the club as he will leave as a free agent upon the expiration of his contract.
Mikel Oyarzabal has been a standout player for Real Sociedad this season and is the club’s top scorer in the league.
Another superb season for Antoine Griezmann, who has 24 goal contributions in La Liga.
